Goa is named as the Land of Sun, Sand and Sea for a reason. From towering mountains to romantic beaches and riverside drives, Goa simply has it all. It is ranked as one of the best destinations in India to enjoy the perfect sunrise and sunsets. Apart from the obvious choice of spending your evenings at a beach, try going to the scenic spots listed below which offer a stunning view too at the dusk.

1. Suicide Point at DonaPaula Jetty

Goan Folklore talks about a woman who sacrificed her life for love from this point. Hence the name. It is a Picturesque place to get a good, breezy view of the sun and sea with Mormugao Harbour on one side and the open stretch of Arabian Sea on the other, perfect for the sunsets.

How to reach: Located around 7 km away from Panjim, the DonaPaula Jetty can be reached by availing a bus or motorcycle-taxi from Panjim. A number of local buses to Dona Paula depart every 15 minutes from Panjim Bus Terminal.

2. Chapora Fort

This fort known as the famous Dil Chahta Hai fort is hands down one of the best places for sunsets in Goa. It is located in Northern Goa overlooking the Vagator beach. Watching the sun go down under the blue waters at this place along with the best lot of your friends is nothing less than a scene from movies.

How to reach: Chapora fort can be easily reached by hiring local transport from Mapusa which is just 11 kms away from this place. The path to the fort is made of red laterite stones which become slippery during monsoons. One has to be careful while walking through to the top of the fort.

3. Japanese Garden Vasco

This Garden is situated atop a hill in a place called Sada in Vasco Da Gama giving a breathtaking view of the Arabian sea. Maintained by the Mormugao Port Trust, this place is well-manicured and safe to visit and is usually frequented by the locals and children. Down the garden is also a small beach for you to wade into the waters of the Arabian sea.

How to Reach: It takes approximately 8-10 minutes to reach the garden from the Vasco City by Car. Located 6 kms away from the city, a ride to this place can offer interesting locales to see on the way.

4. Hilltop view from RajBagh Beach

This 1 km long beach at Canacona Taluka in South Goa is undoubtedly one of the best and the tidiest beaches in Goa. The sand here is clean, perfect for evening walk and the water is safe for swimming. But what tips it off is the hilltop view you get before you climb down the rocks and enter the beach. With a combination white sands, clear seas and pinkish hues of the Sun, who wouldn’t want to go there.

How to Reach: Situated 4 km south from the famous Palolem Beach, it is advisable to go by bikes to reach this location as the path can be very rough and narrow. Also, a bike ride along these hills with a lot of beaches on your way will be something unforgetable.

5. Sinquerim Fort near Vivanta by Taj

The Sinquerim fort is an extension of the Aguada Fort built during 16th century. It divides the shoreline into two by giving a majestic view of the great expanse of the sea. The sound of waves gushing against the walls and the beautiful sun setting at the horizon, one should definitely experience the amount of serenity that this place has to give away.

How to Reach: As this fort is located just outside the famed 5 star resort of Taj Vivanta, finding it is a piece of cake if you have GPS in your phone. It is a prime tourist location located at a distance of 18 kms from Panaji and therefore accessible by any means of Road Transport.
