Digi Dhan Mela – A March Towards Cashless Goa

With demonetisation taking a toll on the the day to day life of Indians, Digi धन Mela comes to the rescue. It is a novel initiative taken by Govt. of India to push all the business transactions towards mobile banking and e-payments. One point to be noted here is that the Government’s bid to go cashless means less cash not no cash. This, in turn, will give ample amount of options to the consumers while paying for goods and services.

After a successful edition in Gurugram, it is heading to Goa with a carnival-style event on 28th of December at Inox Courtyard, Panjim. Scheduled to go on for about 12 hours i.e. from 10 am – 10 pm, this mela will feature several attractions that will promote digital payments to lay people in an interactive manner.

Live Demonstration on E-payment Apps

Apart from the usual mobile and e-banking system, special emphasis will be laid on payment platforms like USSD, UPI, Rupay Cards and Aadhaar based Payments. For using the latter platform, a new app has been introduced to accepts payments from people who don’t have a mobile phone or a debit card. The only thing needed is a bank account linked to your Aadhaar number and Voila! You can use your fingerprints to carry out your transactions.

Digi Dhan Mela will focus on getting these information at your fingertips through live demonstrations at the venue by several financial experts. TheThis will help you not only in downloading the app of your choice but can load your wallet and then make payments

Flea Market

The mela will feature an amazing flea market with around 20 attractive stalls. All the stalls will be equipped with POS Machines and e-Wallet integration systems to encourage use of online methods for business transactions. Many reputed banks will be participating in the fair to show their support towards the cause and share their expertise with general public. As an extension to this, the State Government also plans to host mega awareness camps to promote e-payments among customers and traders in the rural areas and outskirts of Goa in the near future.

Apart from these, They will also have live performances by Bands, Acrobats and Fire Dancers and fashion shows in the evening.

Lucky Grahak Yojana

The National Payment Corporation of India just makes the whole affair a bit more interesting by conducting several lucky draw contests throughout the day. The awards will be restricted for purchases worth Rs 50 to Rs 3000. The winners will be identified through a random draw of the eligible Transaction IDs during the event. Each lucky winner will receive Rs. 1000 as per the new Lucky Grahak Yojana that will be launched at the event.

Make sure you participate in the first such fair in Goa since demonetization. Rather than a gala, ‘Digi Dhan Mela’ can be called as a need of the hour.
